🎤 i-dle: Story
- Formed by Cube Entertainment, they debuted on May 2, 2018 with the mini-album I Am and the lead single Latata.
- Originally a six-member group, but one member (Soojin) left in 2021 following controversy; since then they’ve been five.
- Their name was officially changed in 2025: they dropped the “(G)” and parentheses and now go by i-dle, to reflect a more open, less gender-bound identity.
- They’re known for creative control: many of their songs are written/produced by member Soyeon, and they openly experiment with concepts and genres.
👯 Members
There are five current members:
- Soyeon — Leader, main rapper, also heavily involved in composing, songwriting, and producing.
- Miyeon — Main vocalist, known for her strong singing and visuals; she trained before debut and has acted/hosted as well.
- Minnie — From Thailand; recognized for her unique voice, emotional contributions to music, and recently debuted solo.
- Yuqi — From China; known for her deep voice, charismatic stage presence, and variety in performance styles.
- Shuhua — From Taiwan; youngest member (maknae), brings visual & vocal color, and has steadily grown in stage confidence.
Former member: Soojin (left in 2021).

- Nearly debuted under names based on colors and animals; members joked about having stage names like “Green Crocodile,” “Pink Mouse,” etc.
- Soyeon is often highlighted because she does a lot more than just perform — she writes, produces, and helps steer their musical direction.

- They’ve done world tours, showing their international popularity despite being from a non-big-three agency.
- Their music often explores themes beyond romantic love: self-identity, empowerment, breaking norms (e.g. Nxde, Tomboy).
